Behind the Lens: My Story as Your Cork & Kerry Wedding Photographer
The Way I See It
Life’s a wild sprint—days blend into years, and suddenly I’m a dad to an 18-year-old tackling his Leaving Cert. Time flies when you’re dodging Belgian Shepherd chaos, and believe me, that’s a workout all on its own! My days are a mix of editing wedding photos, hiking with Ki and Luna (my inside dogs who demand plenty of walks), shuttling my son around (until he gets his full license—then I can finally retire from taxi duty, haha), and running my wedding photography business.
At weddings, I’m the guy bouncing around, chatting to everyone, and capturing memories in a way that tells a story. My photos are a mix of epic landscapes, couples that truly pop, and candid moments that make you wonder, “What’s the craic behind that?” I’m all about capturing the real magic.
And here’s the thing—if you’re camera-shy, don’t sweat it. I promise to make it fun, and I’ll have you laughing while bringing out the best in you. No strict photographer here, just a friend with a camera, and by the end of the day, you’ll see me as one too.
Legacy. Memory. love
At 15 years old, I stood at the entrance of my school in the drizzling rain, trying to use up the last few shots on a roll of film. I had no clue what I was doing—just clicking away, framing the world as I saw it. One of those images, a young lad lost in his music, head tilted back, smiling, ended up winning a national competition. Did I realize the significance at the time? Not a chance. I was 15—I thought I was in trouble when my teacher pulled me aside with a stack of prints! But looking back, that was the moment everything started.
I still feel like that 15-year-old kid, standing in the rain outside my school, unknowingly capturing a moment that would change my life. Back then, I had no idea that a simple black-and-white photograph of a lad lost in his music would win a national competition and set me on this path. I didn’t realize that years later, I’d be standing in castles, on cliffs, and in candlelit venues, capturing the biggest moments of people’s lives.
But here I am, camera in hand, still wondering what I’ve gotten myself into. Maybe the teachers were right—maybe I am a dreamer. But dreaming allows me to see things differently. It helps me capture love in a way that feels real, unposed, and timeless. Since then, I’ve amassed over 50 international wedding awards from one of the biggest online wedding platforms, competing against some of the best photographers in the world. But awards? They don’t define me. They’re just a challenge—something to keep me hungry, pushing myself to create my best work every single time. More than anything, they’re a reminder that this daydreaming young lad has truly found his calling.
