Kevin & Chloe’s Wedding at Gougane Barra Church and The Brehon Hotel

Kevin and Chloe—what a day it was! I’m always thrilled to photograph a wedding, but there’s something extra special about doing it at Gougane Barra Church. You know the spot? Right in the heart of West Cork. It’s like something out of a painting. They couldn’t have picked a more perfect place.

Getting Ready at Gougane Barra Hotel
The morning started off at Gougane Barra Hotel, which is right next to the church. Chloe was getting ready there, and I’ve got to say, she looked absolutely stunning. She has this natural beauty that really came through in the photos—didn’t need any filters at all! The hotel itself is a little hidden gem in the valley. I love how it’s so close to the mountains, feels like you’re completely surrounded by nature.

The Ceremony at Gougane Barra Church
And then, the ceremony. Oh, man, Gougane Barra Church is something else. It’s not just a church, it’s a piece of history. Did you know St. Finbarr, the patron saint of Cork, founded a monastery here way back in the 6th century? It’s still got that peaceful, spiritual vibe that makes it such a popular place for weddings. The sun was shining, Chloe walked down the aisle, and Kevin’s face said it all. It was perfect.

Moving on to The Brehon Hotel in Killarney
After the ceremony, we headed down to Killarney for the reception at The Brehon Hotel. If you’ve ever been there, you know it’s a real treat. It’s right next to Killarney National Park, so the views are spectacular. The staff at The Brehon were fantastic—big shout-out to them for making everything run so smoothly. Kevin and Chloe were surrounded by friends and family, and it was just one of those days where everyone was smiling from ear to ear.

Thanks to All Involved
I can’t wrap this up without thanking Kevin and Chloe for letting me be a part of their big day. And a huge thank you to the staff at both Gougane Barra Hotel and The Brehon Hotel for being so accommodating. You all made the day run seamlessly, and it was an absolute joy to capture.
