Ian & Orla’s Magical Day at The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney

Ian & Orla’s Unforgettable Wedding at The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney

Let me tell you about Ian and Orla’s wedding—it was one for the books! From the moment I arrived, I knew this day was going to be something special. Orla had such a calm, laid-back energy in the morning; she was as cool as a cucumber while getting ready. But the second she started walking down the aisle, the emotions just hit her. I could see it all over her face, and it made for some of the most beautiful, genuine wedding photos I’ve ever captured.

The Gleneagle Hotel: A Killarney Gem
The wedding took place at The Gleneagle Hotel, one of the best spots in Killarney. It’s a fantastic 4-star hotel just a stone’s throw away from Killarney town. If you know the area, you’ll know it’s a prime location for weddings—loads of access to the National Park, Muckross House, and all those dreamy spots in Kerry for photos. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant, too. Big thanks to them for keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day.

Mixed Weather, But Perfect for Photos
Now, the weather was a bit of a mixed bag that morning. You know how it goes in Kerry—could be sunshine one minute, rain the next. We had planned to head out to Muckross House and Eagles Nest for photos, and it looked a bit iffy at first. But just when we needed it, the weather calmed down enough for us to hop on the bus that Ian and Orla had booked for the bridal party and myself. We headed off to the locations, and I’m so glad we did. The photos came out beautifully, with the moody skies giving them a special touch.

The Magic of Muckross and Eagles Nest
Muckross House never disappoints for wedding photos. The grand architecture, the gardens, and that backdrop of mountains—it’s just stunning. And then there’s Eagles Nest, which is a little more tucked away but equally magical. The whole bridal party was full of energy, and we had such a good time getting those shots.

A Day Full of Joy, Laughter, and Tears
This wedding really had it all—laughter, tears, and so much joy. The guests were amazing, the vibes were perfect, and Ian and Orla were just a dream to work with. A huge thank you to both of them for letting me capture their day, and another massive thank you to the incredible staff at The Gleneagle Hotel and the guests for making the day so much fun.
