A Love Story from India to Ireland — Vatsal & Vageesha’s Gap of Dunloe Proposal
When Vatsal first reached out about doing a couple shoot here in Ireland, I’ll be honest — part of me was sceptical. He sounded full of energy, nearly bursting with excitement. I didn’t know then that hidden behind all that was a plan. A big one. During our shoot, he was going to propose.
See, Vatsal knew years ago that Vageesha was the one. He knew it while she had already moved to Ireland and he was still back home in India. For years he lived with that spark — the hope that one day he’d follow her here, start a new life together, and maybe, just maybe, get the chance to ask her to marry him.
When we finally spoke, that excitement in his voice made sense. It wasn’t just joy about a photoshoot — it was love, pure and simple. Love for the girl he’d followed halfway around the world. Love for the life they’d started. Love for the moment he was planning, right here in the heart of Kerry.
Being a proposal photographer in Ireland and shooting weddings across Cork and Kerry, I’ve seen hundreds of beautiful stories unfold — but some hit you differently. This one did.

We spent several hours together that day, walking, talking, laughing — just three people exploring the magic of the Gap of Dunloe. They told me about life in Ireland, how they met, and how Vatsal had known long before Vageesha did that she was the one. It honestly felt like spending the day with old friends.
You could see it in their faces — the way they looked at each other, how they moved together, almost floating through the valley like they’d built their own little world. And then came the moment — the step back, the deep breath, and down on one knee he went. She said yes. And honestly, how could she not?
For me, moments like that are why I love what I do. As a wedding and elopement photographer covering Kerry, Cork, and all of Ireland, I get to capture love stories in their rawest form. No acting. No posing. Just real people, real emotion, and the kind of joy that sticks with you long after the shutter clicks.

Why Choose JOD Photography
Couples often say the same thing after their day — that I blend in like one of the gang and catch the moments nobody else sees. Pamela Milner once said, “James blended in with us like one of the gang & captured breathtaking photos throughout the day without ever getting in the way.” That’s the heart of what I do — capturing real emotion without interrupting it.
From India to Ireland — A Story That Travels
What makes this story special is how it started thousands of miles away. Two people, two paths, somehow ending up together on a wild mountainside in Kerry. This is what proposal photography in Ireland is all about — the connection, the story, the journey. Whether you’re from Cork, Kerry, or the far side of the world, your love story deserves to be told this way — naturally, honestly, and beautifully.

Vatsal and Vageesha, thank you for trusting me with your story — for letting me be part of a memory you’ll carry for life. And to everyone reading, if you’re dreaming of a proposal, an elopement, or a wedding in Cork or Kerry — reach out. Let’s tell your story next.

Real, Relaxed, and Completely You
My couples don’t want staged photos — they want memories that feel alive. That’s what fun and relaxed wedding photography in Ireland means to me. Whether it’s an elopement on the Kerry cliffs or a wild celebration in Cork, every frame is about who you really are, not who you’re told to be.
As an authentic Cork & Kerry elopement photographer, I focus on real connection, honest storytelling, and those blink-and-you-miss-them moments that define the day. This is natural documentary wedding photography — full of light, laughter, and the small details that make your story yours.
So if you’re planning something different — small, joyful, and meaningful — let’s talk. Together, we’ll create photographs that feel as real as the moment itself.
