Relaxed Cork wedding photography with genuine emotions

Clodagh & Timmy’s Beautiful Cork Wedding at St Abina’s Church Clondrohid and The Talbot Hotel Cork

Some weddings just feel easy from the very beginning.

From the minute I arrived on the morning of Clodagh and Timmy’s wedding, there was this relaxed energy in the house. Music on. Laughter already flowing. Everyone buzzing in that perfect mix of excitement, nerves, and pure happiness that makes a wedding morning feel alive.

And being only minutes from home made it even nicer for me personally. There’s something special about photographing weddings close to Macroom, Clondrohid, and the surrounding Cork countryside because it all feels familiar in the best possible way.

The girls had the house absolutely hopping all morning with plenty of craic, stories flying around the room, and those little emotional moments quietly happening in between everything else.

A Beautiful Ceremony at St Abina’s Church Clondrohid

We then made our way to St Abina’s Church and from the moment Clodagh walked up the aisle, the whole atmosphere shifted.

Everything slowed down.

The way they looked at each other felt incredibly real. Quiet. Emotional. No performance. No awkwardness. Just two people completely wrapped up in the moment together.

That’s always the stuff that stays with me after a wedding day.

The genuine moments.
The natural reactions.
The little glances nobody else notices.

That’s what documentary wedding photography is really about.

Portraits at Coolcower House

The Irish weather did what Irish weather does best, throwing showers at us on and off throughout the day, but honestly, it worked in our favour.

We slipped away for a short stop at Coolcower House and it gave us everything we could have hoped for.

The river.
The calm surroundings.
The early autumn colours beginning to appear.
That peaceful atmosphere around the grounds.

Some locations don’t need much effort. They just naturally work beautifully for wedding photographs, and Coolcower House is definitely one of them.

Celebrations at The Talbot Hotel Cork

After portraits, everybody made their way to Talbot Hotel Cork where the team looked after everyone brilliantly all day.

Once the speeches started, the whole room lifted again.

There were emotional moments, huge laughs, brilliant stories, and the kind of reactions you simply cannot stage. The dance floor kicked off properly afterwards thanks to The Stars Band and honestly never slowed down for the rest of the night.

Exactly the kind of wedding atmosphere every couple hopes for.

Off on Their Next Adventure

Right now, while I sit here editing these memories back in Cork, Clodagh and Timmy are off in Bilbao living the honeymoon properly.

Rock concerts. Late evening walks through little streets hand in hand. Good food. A few drinks. Smiling from ear to ear and finally getting a quiet moment to let it all sink in.

No timelines. No seating plans. No stress.

Just husband and wife, wandering through a new city together, talking into the early hours of the morning and making the kind of memories that become stories years from now.

And honestly… that suits them perfectly.

Clodagh & Timmy, thank you again for trusting me to capture such a real, emotional, joy-filled day. It was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. I hope Bilbao gives ye memories for life and I’ve no doubt the laughs are still going strong over there.
