Graeme & Eva had one of those dream days for their wedding. The weather was unreal, sunny and perfect for an outdoor ceremony at the Kinsale Hotel and Spa. I’ve been to this venue a few times, and honestly, when Eva said the ceremony would be outside, I couldn’t have been happier. The views here are something else.
Out back on the hotel’s balcony, you get a stunning combination of nature and the sea, all in one. It’s one of those places where, as a photographer, you know every shot is going to be amazing. During the summer, the sun sets just to the left, casting this warm light across the hills and water. This is why I love being a Cork wedding photographer—you get these moments that are just perfect.
After the ceremony, we took a short drive over to Charles Fort, which is only about 5 minutes away. If you haven’t been, it’s an old star-shaped fort that looks over Kinsale Harbour. It’s full of history and just has this magical vibe. It’s one of those places where couples love to get photos taken, and I can see why. We had a great time exploring the fort and capturing those post-ceremony moments.
The day couldn’t have gone smoother, and that’s a huge credit to the staff at the Kinsale Hotel and Spa. They really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From the moment we arrived until the end of the night, their attention to detail was spot on. If you’re thinking about getting married in Cork, this venue should definitely be on your list.
And of course, I want to give a big thank you to Graeme and Eva. It was an honor to be part of their special day, and I’m so glad I got to capture those memories for them. Wishing them all the best for the future!
A wedding day moves fast, but my job is to slow it down in photos. I keep it natural, relaxed, documentary-style. You get the big shots, yes, but also the quiet looks, the belly laughs, the moments you didn’t even know happened.
Here’s what couples have said:
“We absolutely loved having James as our photographer for our small family wedding. He was friendly, easy-going, and great fun. He had a great eye for special moments, making it so enjoyable for us all. He is beyond talented.” – Clare O’Mahoney
“James arrived full of energy and instantly changed the mood in the house. Within minutes we were chatting like we knew him years. He kept everyone calm, laughing and smiling, and everything ran smoothly. From photographer to a friend in a few hours!” – Aisling Healy
