Conor & Emma’s G.A.A. Wedding & Christmas Cheer in Killarney

Bridal party down at the Kilmichael G.A.A Football pitch on a summer evenings kicking footballs

When two G.A.A.-mad souls like Conor and Emma tie the knot, you just know it’s going to be a day filled with laughter, love, and a whole lot of craic! This December wedding was one for the books, and what a day it was.

The festivities began at St. Finbarr’s Church, Toames, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and a good few teammates. After the beautiful ceremony, we headed straight to Kilmichael Hurling and Football Club, where the bridal party brought their A-game. There were footballs flying, plenty of laughs, and a bit of friendly competition—all set against the backdrop of the place that holds so many memories for Conor. The entire bridal party joined in, making it a moment we’ll never forget.

Once the fun wrapped up at the club, we made our way to Ross Castle in Killarney for some truly stunning photos. The castle’s historic charm and scenic surroundings were the perfect complement to the festive, joyful spirit of the day. A crowd of curious tourists gathered to watch as we captured breathtaking images of Conor, Emma, and their bridal party in this magical setting.

Your Cork & Kerry Wedding Story

Many couples choose to celebrate across two counties — with a beautiful church ceremony in Cork and a lively reception in Kerry. It’s the best of both worlds: Cork’s historic charm meets Kerry’s epic scenery. I’ve photographed dozens of weddings that cross this Cork–Kerry border, and it always creates something unique.

Couples often say the same thing about their day:

  • “James fit in so well with the Kerry crowd he may as well put Kerry based photographer on his profile!”

  • “He was outstanding with my children… the photos turned out beyond what we could have imagined.”

  • “We’re over the moon with the photos — they capture us, not just the day.”

  • “A master of his craft, one of the best photographers in the country.”

  • “From the moment he entered the room, we were laughing — he changed my mood from bridezilla to relaxed.”

That’s the kind of feedback that keeps me going.

Finally

To have someone capture the emotional rollercoaster of a wedding that moves from Cork’s quiet chapels to Kerry’s wild mountains is a privilege. My couples often tell me it’s like reliving the day when they open their album — the laughter, the nerves, the mad Irish weather, and the moments that only happen once.

If you’re crossing the Cork–Kerry line for your wedding, let’s make it a story worth keeping.

The celebrations continued at the Killarney Heights Hotel, which looked absolutely stunning decked out in its Christmas best. The warm, festive atmosphere was the perfect backdrop for the reception, where everyone let loose and enjoyed a day to remember. Emma and Conor’s guests were nothing short of legendary—each and every one of them bringing their own unique charm to the party. From the speeches to the dance floor antics, this was a crowd that knew how to have fun.

The bridal party, of course, was on top form. Joking, laughing, and having the craic from start to finish, they were an absolute joy to work with. The love and camaraderie among everyone made capturing the day such a pleasure—and the resulting images are truly something special.
