Lauren & Jamie’s Cork Wedding Bliss
Lauren & Jamie: A Fun Wedding at The Kingsley Hotel Cork
Lauren and Jamie—what a couple! From the moment I walked into The Kingsley Hotel Cork, I knew it was going to be a cracking day. They’re the kind of people who make everything feel easy and fun. The kind of couple you just want to spend time with, y’know?
Morning Madness at The Kingsley
So, when I got to their suite that morning, the fun had already started. Lauren and her bridal party? Absolute legends. They were already having the craic, with jokes flying and music playing. The room was buzzing! For me, it’s the best part of the morning, seeing everyone full of excitement (and maybe a bit of nerves). But honestly, these gals were so chill, it was impossible not to feel relaxed.
If you haven’t been to The Kingsley Hotel before, it’s right on the banks of the River Lee and has a bit of everything—fancy but cozy at the same time. Fun fact: it was once a hydrotherapy hospital back in the day! Now, it’s a super stylish hotel and one of the top spots for weddings in Cork. Can’t say I’m surprised; the place just has a great vibe.
Decision Time: Where to Shoot?
After the ceremony, we had a decision to make: where to go for photos? In Cork, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to picturesque spots, but we had two clear front runners: FitzGerald’s Park and University College Cork (UCC).
FitzGerald’s Park is a bit of a gem, right on the river, with its gardens and the Shakey Bridge. It’s a real go-to for couples who want that outdoor, green backdrop. But in the end, we decided to head to UCC, and honestly, I’m so glad we did.
The campus is stunning. Think Gothic-style buildings, ivy-covered walls, and loads of space to roam around. UCC is one of the oldest universities in Ireland, founded back in 1845, so you’ve got that lovely sense of history wherever you look. Plus, the grounds are just gorgeous for photos—there’s something magical about it, especially with the light filtering through the trees. Perfect for adding that little bit of Cork charm to the wedding pics!
