Aisling and Jonathan’s wedding in Cork was pure, unfiltered joy—peak Irish “craic was 90.” The day kicked off with a dumb mix-up when I showed up at Aisling’s house instead of Jonathan’s. Aisling, the absolute legend, welcomed me into her kitchen like an old mate, and we were cackling like lunatics within seconds. She gently pointed out I was meant to be at Jonathan’s, just a seven-minute drive away. No biggie.
Walking into Jonathan’s place was like crashing a lads’ night out. Seven groomsmen filled the kitchen, slagging each other and laughing their heads off. The vibe was pure Cork—laid-back, no egos, just good craic. I felt like one of the gang, not some random photographer, snapping candid shots as they got ready.
Aisling was an absolute vision. Enough said.
The ceremony went down at St. Joseph’s Church in Glanmire, under rare Irish summer sunshine. The place was buzzing, everyone riding the high of the day. It was heartfelt, vibrant, and set the tone for what was to come.
Post-ceremony, we headed to Lakemount Gardens on Barnavara Hill—a proper hidden gem. Think vibrant colors, winding paths, and fairytale vibes. The owner let us roam free, and we nabbed some jaw-dropping wedding portraits against that unreal backdrop.
Back at The Oriel House Hotel in Ballincollig, the staff rolled out the red carpet. With over 150 guests, including the bridal party and families, the reception was a mad mix of laughter, love, and raw emotion. Felt like shooting mates, not clients—everyone was that warm.
The highlight? Jonathan and Aisling’s first dance. Jonathan’s dad stole the show, hopping on stage with the band to belt out Can’t Help Falling in Love With You. The room was a mess of tears, with Jonathan beaming with pride. Between that, the perfect weather, the stunning gardens, and Oriel House’s hospitality, the day was untouchable.
