What to expect from your wedding photography experience
Capturing a Moment for a Lifetime.
Your wedding day flies by faster than your aunt on the dance floor after a few Proseccos! But don’t worry—I’ll be there to catch every laugh, tear, and dodgy dance move, so you can relive the magic long after the cake is gone. Because some moments deserve more than just a blurry phone pic from your cousin.
So, you’ve checked my work and narrowed it down to a few wedding photographers. I suggest giving them a call. In today’s world, there are so many ways to contact someone—WhatsApp, Messenger, email, text—but a good old-fashioned phone call will tell you everything about the person you are considering. Leave a text and schedule a call back. Through a phone call, you can get a great sense of the person you are about to hire.
I love to hear from my couples, and I know they will walk away from that additional phone call knowing if I am the right fit for them. So, send an email through the forms on the website, schedule a phone call, and get to know the person on the other end of the line. After all, they will be spending a lot of time with you on your special day.
Take Your Time… But Not Too Much! 😉
After our call, take a moment to mull it over—grab a coffee, have a think, maybe even consult the family WhatsApp group (we all know they’ll have opinions!). While you do, check out reviews of photographers. Wedding photography isn’t just about standing in a line and smiling anymore—it’s storytelling, it’s emotion, it’s pure magic.
The industry has exploded with creativity over the past five years, and trust me, I’m right in the thick of it. If you want bold, vibrant, real moments captured with heart (and a touch of madness), well… you know where to find me. 😏
As mentioned above, my WhatsApp channel is open 24/7 to all couples, so never hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
Once you’re booked in, I generally give you some space to assemble the rest of your vendors and finalize the last touches for your amazing wedding day. This way, when I get back in touch with you, you will have all the answers I need for the Google document.
A few months before the wedding, I’ll reach out with a Google document that can be easily filled out and sent back using your phone. This document helps me understand the flow of your day. Also the contract will be attached to this Document,
It includes questions like who the videographer is, who made or where you bought the dress, who made the cake, and who is handling makeup and hair on the day. It also asks about the band and other details. These simple questions allow me to tag the vendors in the images when I share them. It’s nice to give them props for their work, and I’m always happy to help out where I can.

Once I have a clear view of your schedule, I’ll craft a custom timeline for your wedding photography session. This is key because, let’s face it, there are certain parts of the day that need a bit of a breather for photos:
- Wrapping up preparations,
- Portraits of the wedding party, bride, and groom,
- Family photos.
My goal is to keep everything smooth and chill, so you can focus on enjoying every moment. Plus, having this timeline lets me pop in at just the right times to capture the magic without disrupting the flow of the day.
And, don’t worry—I’ll have you covered with the “Must Have” shot list you’ll share with me on Google Docs. I’ll pass it over to your Maid of Honour too, so she can wrangle up the right people for those formal shots (she knows who to grab, right?). Easy peasy. 😎

All the hard work of planning is over, and I’ll be there at 9am unless we’ve set a different time. The mornings of every wedding are awkward for about 10 minutes—everyone is running around, people are everywhere, and then in walks this guy who’s about to stick a camera in your face. That’s what you’re thinking, right?
But fear not! Once I arrive, my main goal is to fit in as quickly as possible and become one of you. I’ll laugh and joke with you for the first 15 minutes to get everyone at ease. Before long, it will feel like we’ve known each other for years. This helps put everyone at ease because, yes, I’m the one holding the camera, but I’m not a drill sergeant. I’m here to observe and capture the day’s events naturally.
When you gather people and nerves are running high, golden moments happen. I’m there to capture those by making sure your bridal party feels comfortable. They’ll forget about the camera after 15 minutes, and their guard will drop. This allows me to get in close, and in close is where the magic happens.

Just because the wedding is over doesn’t mean our friendship ends! I’m not just your photographer—I’m your photographer-for-life. And that WhatsApp group? It’s always open. Any questions, updates, or just a random chat—fire away!
Now, about those wedding photos… If I’m not off shooting another wedding the next day, I’m already diving into edits. I can’t sit on things—the eager beaver in me won’t allow it! So, if I’m home, expect to see a sneak peek the very next day. No waiting six weeks. No months of wondering. Just pure, fresh memories delivered straight to your phone.

Right after the ceremony is prime time for family group shots—before Uncle Pat wanders off to the bar! If the weather plays nice, we’ll head outdoors for some fresh, natural shots. If it doesn’t? No worries! We’ll find a cozy spot inside the venue.
But listen, if the clouds part for even five minutes, you better believe the bride, groom, and I are making a break for some epic outdoor shots. These moments bring the day’s story to life—and trust me, they’re worth the dash!
Trust Me, This Part Is Fun!!!
By the time we hit the bride and groom portraits in Cork, Kerry, or Limerick, you two will be so comfortable with me—you’ll barely notice I’m there! Promise.
Most couples prefer the natural light and beauty of outdoor settings for their wedding portraits (and I’m all about that too). We’ll start with some classic shots where you’ll look directly at the camera, but after that, we’ll loosen up. I’ll get you two interacting in a relaxed, natural way—no stiff poses here, I promise!
Feel free to move, laugh, maybe even do a little dance. I’m all for capturing those spontaneous moments that show off your joy and love. And, don’t worry, I’ll guide you with some poses here and there to highlight your best angles.
If the timing works out with your reception, I’ll steal you away for a few minutes to catch the breathtaking wedding sunset photos. It’s the photographer’s golden hour—when the light is absolutely magical. Trust me, it’s the perfect moment to capture those romantic wedding photos that you’ll treasure forever! 🌅✨
