Wedding Photography Prices in Ireland: What Are You Actually Paying For?
When couples research wedding photographer prices in Ireland,
they quickly discover that prices can vary enormously.
That doesn't necessarily mean one photographer is expensive and another is cheap.
The amount of coverage, experience, what's included and the finished products can all make a substantial difference.
The important thing is to look beyond the headline price and understand
what you're actually getting for your money.
Smaller Weddings & Part-Day Photography
Not every wedding needs ten or twelve hours of photography.
For an elopement, civil ceremony or smaller celebration,
a shorter collection can be a much more sensible and affordable option.
My own collections currently start at €600 for intimate weddings,
with my Moments collection at €850 for couples who want the main part of the day photographed
without paying for full-day coverage.
For couples searching for an affordable wedding photographer in Cork,
this is often where the biggest saving can be made:
choosing the coverage your wedding actually needs rather than automatically booking a full day.
Full-Day Wedding Photography
Full-day photography usually covers a much bigger part of the story:
the excitement and nerves in the morning, the ceremony, family and couple photographs,
the reception, speeches and the celebrations later in the evening.
My Memories collection is €1,450 and covers the wedding
until the first dance or 10pm, whichever comes first.
It includes 500+ professionally edited photographs,
a private online gallery, high-resolution downloads while the gallery is live,
a folio presentation box with USB and 50 professionally printed 6×4 photographs.
For me, affordable wedding photography isn't about stripping everything back.
It's about offering couples a complete wedding story at a clear price
without adding surprise travel charges or unnecessary extras afterwards.
Wedding Photography With an Album
The price naturally increases when a handcrafted wedding album becomes part of the collection.
A properly made album is very different from simply ordering a photo book online.
It is designed around the photographs from your wedding and made to become something
you can actually hold, share and keep.
My Forever collection is €1,950 and includes full-day photography
together with a handcrafted 30 × 30cm / 12 × 12" wedding album,
designed with up to 80 photographs, plus a USB.
The Eternity collection is €2,550 and adds handcrafted parent albums,
giving couples a complete album collection for themselves and their families.
What Should You Compare Between Wedding Photographers?
Rather than looking at two prices and automatically choosing the lower one,
look carefully at what each photographer actually includes.
✔ How many hours of photography are included?
✔ Are the finished photographs supplied in high resolution?
✔ Is there an additional charge for travel?
✔ How long will you wait for your finished wedding gallery?
✔ Will you receive sneak peeks shortly after the wedding?
✔ Are albums, prints or USB presentation products included?
✔ How long will your online gallery remain available?
✔ Most importantly, do you actually like the photographer's work and feel comfortable having them around you for the day?
Price Matters. Value Matters More.
There's nothing wrong with having a wedding photography budget.
Nearly every couple does.
But the cheapest package isn't necessarily the best value,
just as the most expensive photographer isn't automatically the right photographer for you.
Look at the photographs. Read the reviews. Look through real weddings rather than a handful of favourite portfolio images.
Then look at the coverage, delivery time and everything that's actually included.
My approach has always been to keep the pricing straightforward.
Choose the amount of photography that suits your wedding,
know what you're paying from the beginning,
and then get on with enjoying the day.
