John & Tricia’s Magical Wedding at Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford
John and Tricia tied the knot at the absolutely gorgeous Ferrycarrig Hotel, with the stunning River Slaney Estuary as the backdrop. Honestly, it was one of those days where everything felt magical, and the beauty of the location made it even more special.
I always love heading up the country for weddings, and this trip to Wexford was no exception! There’s something about arriving a day early, wandering the grounds, and figuring out the best spots to capture those unforgettable moments. At Ferrycarrig Hotel, the views were breathtaking, and the excitement was building as we prepared for John and Tricia’s big day.
When I got to Tricia’s parents’ house, we were straight into the craic! From cracking jokes with the family to laughing together, it was such a fun and relaxed vibe. It’s the kind of welcome that makes you feel like you’ve known everyone for years. By the time I took the camera out, we were already bouncing off each other like old friends! It made capturing the morning prep feel effortless and, most importantly, fun. Their hospitality? Second to none—such a warm and welcoming family.
Now, as any Irish wedding photographer knows, the weather can be unpredictable, and showers were definitely forecasted. After arriving at the Ferrycarrig Hotel, we did get caught in one or two downpours, but that didn’t stop us from making the best of it. At one point, I was using my jacket to shield Tricia from the rain! Still, John and Tricia didn’t let it phase them one bit. The rain was just another part of the story, and we even found a few dry spots to sneak in some great shots. They were total troopers, and I loved how nothing could dampen their spirits.
One of the highlights of the day? John and Tricia’s little boy! This lad was a born entertainer—clapping, cheering, and hyping up the whole crowd during the ceremony. He honestly stole the show, and you could feel the love and joy radiating from him. I can’t wait for him to look back on these photos years from now and see what a big part he played in his parents’ special day. He was a total legend!
