Bríd & Ger’s Ballygarry Wedding – A Day Full of Craíc and Real Moments
A Morning That Had Everything Waiting to Happen
Fantastic day spent at one of the country’s finest wedding venues. Ballygarry just does weddings right. The attention to detail, the way they look after everyone, from the couple to the guests to the suppliers, it’s something you notice straight away.
When I arrived that morning, it looked like we were in for a wet and windy day. But the cherry blossoms had just come into bloom and they were the first thing that caught my eye. I knew straight away we’d be using them. The gardens at Ballygarry are something else when they come to life.
Bríd and her mum arrived down to the Pavilion to start the morning and the mood was brilliant. Everyone in great spirits, bouncing off each other. I remember asking Bríd how the nerves were, she smiled and said she was okay… for now.

The People That Make the Day
Bríd and Ger are exactly the kind of couple that seem to find me.
They wanted the craíc, the laughs, and a day that just flowed naturally without pressure. That’s when everything works.
But what stood out most for me was the people around them.
I always say I love the chats, and I mean that. Especially with what I call the “old Ireland”. Not old at all, just a different way about them. A kindness, a warmth, a way of speaking that feels like it’s slowly fading.
Bríd’s mum, a Kerry woman, was one of those people.
47 years a nurse, full of stories, full of humour, full of that proper Irish warmth. She had a way of making everyone feel at ease while telling stories that brought you right back.
Bríd’s father, a Cork man, was the same in his own way. Cork through and through. The stories, the tone, the pride. You could listen all day.
And don’t be surprised if you find me in the middle of it all, chatting away. That’s half the job for me.
When the Weather Turned and Everything Lined Up
As the morning went on, the rain eased off and the sun started to break through.
The wind never left us, but that didn’t matter. Once it stayed dry, we were flying.
The light came across the Ballygarry gardens and hit the cherry blossoms perfectly. It gave us exactly what we needed. Natural, soft, real.
No forcing anything. Just letting it happen.

The Ceremony – When It All Became Real
When Bríd walked up the aisle with her dad, that’s when everything shifted.
She had been strong all morning, but in that moment the emotions took over.
Tears, smiles, everything all at once.
You could feel it across the room.
These are the moments you can’t plan. You just have to be ready for them.

A First Look That Said Everything
Earlier in the day, we had the first look with her father and brothers.
The lads stood there with me, unsure of what to do.
“So what do we do, stand here is it?”
“Yeah, face this way,” I said, “I’ll shoot through ye, then I’ll move around behind.”
Simple.
But when Bríd walked in behind them, everything changed.
She broke into tears.
They turned around.
“Awe jaysus Bríd… you look amazing.”
The two brothers were completely stopped. The father just lit up looking at her.
Then they all just went in for a hug.
No posing. No direction. Just real.
That’s it right there.

Ballygarry – A Venue That Just Gets It Right
Ballygarry is one of those places that makes the day easier.
Everything flows.
The staff are on it.
The atmosphere is relaxed but runs perfectly.
It allows couples to enjoy their day without thinking about what’s happening next.
And for photography, that’s everything.
The Rest of the Day
The rest of the day just carried on in the same way.
Laughter, chats, moments happening naturally without needing to be forced.
Exactly how a wedding should be.
